Great Little War Game (or GLWG) is a turn-based strategy game where you command an army of tiny but brave soldiers into battle against other tiny, brave soldiers. It has all the features of a great strategy game: a great campaign, the humor-injected storyline and an easy to use interface. It's certainly something every iOS strategy gamer should have.

The graphics might be a bit cartoony but if Advanced Wars was any measure, it's often a selling point for games like this. One of the things I liked about it was that the map could be zoomed in and out as well as rotated, perfect for planning tactics. On top of that, it had great in-battle cut scenes as well as a detailed map, complete with rainfall and snowfall.
The campaign plays very nicely, ramping up in difficulty as you get further into the game. You won't get bored here I assure you since the scenario objectives are as varied as the number of missions, from escorting the valiant Generalissimo to a safe point to holding the fort until help arrives. You get to command a variety of units from the almost-unstoppable Commando to the impervious Behemoth tank.

It did have a few minor issues in my opinion. There were some missions that seemed a bit too easy once you got to know how most of the units work. I'm not sure if the devs made it that way, but I felt I was cheating somehow. Also it lacked a few of the better features of other strategy game like skirmish maps and online play (some of which are coming soon).
Despite these, this is a great little strategy game to have on your iDevice. Get it for $2.99 at the App Store right now. Great Little War Game is compatible with the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
