"Veni, vidi, vici" – “I came, I saw, I conquered.” was one of the famous words of the Roman dictator, Julius Caesar. It expresses domination and power – the player’s main goal in iBattle Game on the iOS.

iBattle Game by i4nApps plays like a strategy board game infused with patriotic army snare beats that will get you in the mood for war. The gameplay is simple; on a 10x10 grid, the player and the enemy will place 40 units on their respective sides of the grid and engage in a turn-based war to get hold of their opponent’s flag. There are several unit types that have their own advantages and weaknesses. It will be like flipping a coin on every match in iBattle Game because the units on the opposing team will remain unknown unless attacked or initiates an attack. A victory boils down to the player’s wit and luck.

There are several game options for iBattle Game: Single player, Pass & Play, and Multiplayer. There are great options for multiplayer; gamers can play over local Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, online, and GameCenter. iBattle Game also have leaderboards and GameCenter achievements for those who strive for greatness through ranks and trophies. There are several In-App-Purchases like maps, unit models, and extras but none of these will disrupt the full game experience.

As the drumsticks bounce on battle snare drums, rata-tum-tum, be ready to come, see, and conquer iBattle Game on the iOS.

Pros

  • A very competitive and strategic game

  • Great multiplayer options

  • Trumpets and snare drums may get you marching for war (on a digital level)

Cons

  • The default unit models can be quite dull-looking as they all look the same. The paid models have distinctive looks, however… IAP can be a pain sometimes

  • Almost nobody in the online room

  • The gameplay may be confusing to casual gamers and those who are just getting into strategy games. iBattle Game needs a proper tutorial intro
